Asma’s priorities are grounded in her decade of experience serving communities in the Waterloo Region. As a settlement worker, program leader, and the founder of CAWA, she has seen firsthand what residents need — and she knows how to deliver results.

Pillar 1

Smart Infrastructure & Safe Neighbourhoods

A growing city needs infrastructure that keeps pace with daily life. Asma will champion the long-awaited development of our west-end recreational facilities and community spaces. Furthermore, she believes that public safety begins on our residential streets.

She will advocate for smart traffic calming in school zones and implement a high-standard, reliable winter maintenance strategy for pedestrian paths, school walkways, and major neighbourhood roundabouts so our seniors and families can move safely year-round.

Pillar 2

Balanced Growth & Economic Resilience

Waterloo is a world-class tech and education hub; our municipal governance must remain fiscally responsible. Asma will bring an executive eye to City Hall’s budget processes — ensuring that your tax dollars are managed efficiently, small businesses are supported, and municipal investments directly improve daily neighbourhood services without putting an unfair burden on local families.

Pillar 3

A Unified & Inclusive Ward 2

Ward 2 is a vibrant puzzle of distinct neighbourhoods, and no single subdivision should be left behind. Asma is committed to ensuring equitable municipal attention, infrastructure investment, and open communication lines for every resident.

Whether you live in Vista Hills, Columbia Forest, Upper Beechwood, Clair Hills, or Westvale, your voice will be actively and professionally represented at City Hall.
