Waterloo is more than where I live — it is the community my husband and I chose to call home in 2012 and where we are raising our two children. I was drawn to Waterloo by its welcoming spirit, strong neighbourhoods, beautiful natural spaces, and opportunities for families to grow and thrive.
For more than a decade, I have dedicated my career to community development and public service. From working directly with families as a Settlement Worker and Program Lead to founding the Canadian Arab Women’s Association (CAWA), my work has focused on bringing people together, building partnerships, and creating opportunities for residents to succeed.
As Founder and Executive Director of CAWA, I have worked with municipalities, community organizations, businesses, schools, and other partners to respond to local needs and strengthen our community. These experiences have taught me that meaningful change happens when we listen, collaborate, and focus on practical solutions.
I’m running for Waterloo City Council – Ward 2 because I want to bring that experience and collaborative approach to City Hall. I will listen to residents, advocate for our neighbourhoods, and work toward a stronger, safer, and more connected Ward 2.
